I recently came across this quote from the movie, Patch Adams. “Our job is improving the quality of life, not just delaying death”, which I resonate deeply.
As an experience designer, I always believe the impact I want to make is “making work more efficient/effective and life more fun/meaningful”. I believe in the power of design and want to be able to apply that to improve the quality of lives. Aging and death is the life process that we all have to go through but how can we make the end of life experience more peaceful? That is something I often think about. In fact, if we don’t have that quality of life, is it still worthy living longer? Happiness should always be in the equation when we design for experiences. Our job is to improve the quality of life!
